Folkestone Triennial

The first Folkestone Triennial was held in summer 2008. This ambitious international visual art project saw artworks by some of the world’s leading contemporary artists displayed at key points around the town, in the surrounding countryside and along the coast. Running throughout the summer, the exhibition engaged the local community as well as attracting many thousands of new visitors to the town. Eight of the artworks remain in the town permanently.

Over time the intention is to create a unique overview of international contemporary art practice that relates directly to the landscape, history, culture and people of Folkestone.
